I’m an educator with more than 15 years of experience in K–12 teaching, mentorship, and curriculum development. My work focuses on culturally sustaining pedagogy, social justice, and student-centered learning. During my time as a middle school history teacher, I’ve helped open two middle schools as a founding staff member, supported districtwide instructional initiatives, and was honored as Teacher of the Year in 2015.
I currently serve as a program coordinator and lecturer in teacher education, where I mentor and prepare future teachers to create classrooms centered on belonging, collective care, and joy.
As co-founder of Educate to Empower, I facilitate professional learning and organize community events that celebrate Asian American experiences and build solidarity across communities of color. In 2024, I was recognized as a PBS SoCal Local Hero for this work advancing equity, belonging, and justice in education.
I believe classrooms can be spaces of transformation where students and educators feel seen, valued, and empowered to pursue justice, joy, and collective liberation.
